Tales from the Borderlands season pass is £18.99 on PS4. The Game of Thrones season pass is £24.99 on PS4. Meanwhile, PS4 owners are also complaining that the PS4 versions of the games are more expensive than the PS3 versions. "Digital games are often priced more highly than they should be (just look at The Crew for example) but there should at least be parity on price between platforms," wrote "Caress77". And there are a number of comments on the PlayStation Blog with similar complaints. We've been contacted by a number of angry PS4 owners who have slammed the pricing, calling it a rip-off. This, as you'd expect, hasn't gone down well. The Xbox One season pass nets you a saving of £4 versus buying episodes 2-5 individually. The PS4 season pass amounts to a saving of £6 versus buying the episodes individually. But the working out is the same as for Game of Thrones. Tales from the Borderlands is a five-part series, so it's cheaper by default. Buy the season pass and you save four quid - again, the equivalent of getting one episode free. You only get episodes 2-5 with the Xbox One season pass - buy those individually and it would cost you £20. Get the season pass and you save a fiver - the equivalent of getting one episode free.īut if you were to buy all six Game of Thrones episodes on Xbox One, it would cost you £24. So, if you were to buy all six Game of Thrones episodes on PS4, it would cost you £30. What appears to be the situation is that the season pass price differences are caused by the fact that individual episodes are £1 more expensive on PS4 than they are on Xbox One. But even if you add the £3.99 price of the first episode on Xbox One, there's still a £3 difference. Again, the Season Pass on Xbox One only includes episodes 2-5. The Season Pass is £18.99 on PS4 and £11.99 on Xbox One. It's a similar deal for Tales from the Borderlands. It's worth noting that Episode 1 is £4.99 on PS4 - £1 more expensive than on Xbox One. It's £15.99 on Xbox One.Ĭonfusingly for the customer, the season pass on Xbox One includes only episodes 2-6, but even if you add on the £3.99 price of the first episode on Xbox One, there's a £5 difference. The Game of Thrones: Season 1 Season Pass is £24.99 on PS4. ORIGINAL STORY : PlayStation 4 owners have criticised developer Telltale and Sony for the pricing of Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands.īoth games, which went on sale this week, are more expensive on PS4 than on Xbox One. It only happened briefly so I can forgive it.UPDATE : Sony has cut the price of both Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands on PS4 following last week's outcry, and will refund the difference. However, there was one section where Kit Harrington's character was dubbed with a complete different voice, taking away from the immersive experience. There are as many twists as the show and the voice acting is great. You're playing it for the story and the story is EXCELLENT. There's also quick time sequences where you'll have to dodge and rapidly press buttons.īut you're not playing Game of Thrones for the combat. You point to click where you want to go and select dialog choices with your mouse. It's a point-and-click adventure game and there's not much variation in the play. Playing Game of Thrones is a retro affair. With so many choices, the game merits several play throughs to see how you can affect the story. Speaking of other players, you can compare your decisions with other players after each chapter. The experience has to be consistent for different players so the ending can't be different for each person's story. Some players may hate the fact that they can't change the outcome of the story but I don't have a problem with it. While you can't change the overall outcome of the story, you can affect how the in-game characters perceive you and how the story plays out. I've played Telltale's other adventure games and NONE of them made me agonize over my decisions more than Game of Thrones. While the TV show is a passive experience, Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series makes you feel the gravity of each decision. By making your actions and dialog choices effect the story, Telltale made a game where you feel responsible. Without spoiling anything, you'll play as different characters from House Forrester and interact with characters from the show. The Forresters were aligned with the Starks and you'll have to deal with the repercussions of the events following the Red Wedding. In addition to the TV cast, the game follows the story of House Forrester with characters not mentioned in the show. You'll see some of the characters from the show including Lena Hadley as Cersei Lannister, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell, Kit Harington as Jon Snow, and more. Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series takes place between the fourth and fifth seasons of the TV show.
